Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Buzztiv collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. It covers three groups of people: business owners who create a Buzztiv account, visitors who chat with a business's AI receptionist widget, and businesses we contact as part of our own customer-outreach program.

2. Information from account holders

When you create a Buzztiv account, we collect:

  • Name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text);
  • Business information you configure: name, location, phone, website, hours, services, FAQs, tone, and custom instructions;
  • Billing information, handled directly by Stripe — we do not store card numbers; and
  • Widget appearance settings (accent color, position, greeting).

3. Information from chat widget visitors

When someone chats with a business's Buzztiv widget, we process the messages they send in order to generate a response (via Anthropic's Claude API), and store the conversation so the business owner can review it. If a visitor provides their name, email, or a message describing what they need (e.g. to request a callback), that information is stored as a lead and shown to the business owner. We also record a randomly generated visitor identifier (stored in the visitor's browser) to keep track of a single conversation across messages, and the requesting IP address, used only for rate-limiting abuse.

4. Our own outbound calling program

Separately from the chat widget product, we operate an outbound calling program to introduce businesses to Buzztiv. If your business is contacted through this program:

  • We source basic business information (name, phone number, address) from Google Places to build a call list;
  • Calls are placed by an AI voice assistant, which identifies itself as an AI at the start of every call and may record the call;
  • Call recordings and transcripts are stored so we can review call quality and outcomes;
  • If you ask to stop being contacted at any point during a call, we add your number to a permanent internal do-not-call list and will not call it again; and
  • If you express interest, we may send a one-time follow-up text message or email with a signup link.

This internal do-not-call list is separate from, and does not replace, the National Do Not Call Registry.

5. Third parties we use

We share data with the following service providers, only as needed to operate the Service: Anthropic (AI chat responses), Stripe (payment processing), our hosting and database providers, Google (lead sourcing for our outreach program), and our voice and messaging providers used to place outbound calls and send follow-up texts. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data retention

We retain account and conversation data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and operational purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.

10. Contact
